Bumble bees are important pollinators. I was surprised to learn that New Hampshire has 16 species of bumble bees! This one is the most common. It looks a lot like a carpenter bee, but it has a fuzzy abdomen, and it doesn’t get quite as big. These are docile bees that rarely sting.
