Coyotes are common throughout New Hampshire. We hear them more often than we see them around our house. One of the videos below is a great example of what it sounds like. (You can hear our dog, Stanley, huffing a bit in response.) I love the fact that we have such a large mammal living in the woods behind our house.

You’ll also notice that in a couple of photos and videos, a coyote looks a bit ragged. They shed their winter coat in large clumps, ditching the heavy outer layer for a softer and thinner layer underneath.
