True Bugs
True bugs belong to the order hemiptera. They have piercing/sucking mouthparts and semi-hard forewings. They also don’t undergo a complete metamorphosis, so the nymphs resemble the adults.
Dock leaf bugs are relatively common garden bugs. They can be seen feeding on plants around the yard.
It’s not hard to see how this bug got its name.
