Monarch Butterfly

It seems that monarch butterflies are less common than they once were. They’re now a relatively rare site in the garden. I have such fond memories of catching the caterpillars (which are also quite beautiful) on milkweed. I’d keep them in a large jar with milkweed leaves. They’d form a chrysalis and then emerge a few weeks later. That monarchs can somehow migrate to Mexico while I often can’t find my way around a mall is evidence that animals have innate intelligence that we often don’t recognize.
